when dynoing an auto use overdrive. Have been around the mobile dyno in town for a while and every truck that hits the rollers makes more power in od than in drive. you just run it up to about 65 and get on it, it will not downshift and give best numbers. At the norcal rally last year you get 3 pulls and everyone would say they were going to dyno in drive because it will make better power so they did first pull in drive 2nd in od and 3rd in od as it works. even the manual guys with a 5spd make more in 5th than 4th and 6spd guys make more in 6th than 5th

that depends on the type of the dyno, if its an inertia dyno(most mobile ones are) then yeah, OD or 5/6 gear will yield better numbers because of the way the dyno works., an inertia dyno works by taking topspeed that you hit on the run and dividing it by how long it takes the truck to get to top speed and then it converts it to HP and TQ,

a load dyno however, you want to be in direct drive, especially for accuracy. load dynos tend to be the most expensive to own and operate and are pretty much the best type of chassis dynos out there. a load dyno puts a load on motor and works by seeing how fast the truck accelerates with said load(usually the load rate is similar to what the truck would see on the street).

to put this in perspective, at DHRA in indy last june, they had a inertia dyno, in 5th gear my truck showed almost 580 hp, which i know is waaaaaaayyyyyy high considering im on the stock hx 35! now on the 4 load dynos that ive been on since in which i ran in 4th gear, they all show right around 450 hp and 1100 ft lbs. in 5th gear, i lost power ratings each time on a load dyno.

Hey now! Mines got 190,000 miles on it. Changed it at 42k
Now got 230,000. But I am now seeing bad mileage. And a small loss of power!
Can't seem to want to change it out too! Wanna see how long it will last!

Just a thought good luck!
