about 60-70 for a vp truck, not a whole lot but its about the norm for a programmer.

You get more HP/TQ from a Edge Comp...

But you can gain bottom end with a Smarty / Edge Comp stack but the upper end HP will be slightly lower...

I won't do it without gauges or a fuel pump though.

Ditto on gauges, fuel system.

Heres a dyno run i made in 07 both stock and with a smarty programmer on SW9 (highest you can go)

Green = Stock
Red = Smarty SW9

I noticed a way bigger power gain with the smarty, but not to much with the edge,

if you can only get one, get the edge...if you plan on doing any racing w/ it or trying to go big on the dyno, the smarty is gonna hold you back...with that said, it is just flat out mean to stack it with the edge...yes, top end power will be lower but the low end is unreal...most guys will run the stack on the road because we never really get to use the top end...come track/dyno time, the smarty comes off...and yes, the smarty will smoke...stack the edge & the smarty and it becomes a blackout....

Well i know if i just get the smarty ill have to buy gauges and i really like the fact that edge has the safety features and you can monitor all diff kinds of parameters and adjust on the fly....but i have a buddy with a 05 common rail and he has an edge and has all kinds of problems with it, i just want some alright hp gains and some good smoke from a chip for now, cuz when i get home from AIT is when im doin injectors and pumps and all that good stuff also i know someone i can get a smarty from for like 450 just don't know what to do any inputs?? im more of a on road competition person
