smarty for the common rail and for vp trucks are two different animals...cant even compare them...smarty is the way to go w/ the common rails but def. wont do as much for a vp truck...get the edge w/ the gauges and be set...get a lift pump though right away to make sure that vp stays alive...

i just bought a smarty for mine. i got a bunch of supporting mods done to mine, but smarty is the only programmer on it. mine will black out the highway where u cant see behind u. i drove it 10 miles with out it today and man i wanted it back on there. trying the fuel saver mode now to see how it does.

now on a stock truck. while mine was down over the weekend we put the smarty on jw's 01 dodge. it made a big seat of the feel dyno difference from the power puck he has. on take off he said the power puck felt stronger, but every other aspect the smarty made it feel stronger, made it faster and made it smoke. it smoked on every shift in his 6 speed. lug 6 gear and it will leave a trail. hope this is beneficial to ya.

I love the smarty. I run it day in and day out. The turbo seems to spool faster. With the cold weather, the high idle is awesome. I only turn the edge on to play. I noticed a big difference when the edge is on, after I put the RV275 injectors in. With the smarty, I adjusted my tire height so my speedometer is just about spot on. Plus the smarty gives me any codes, I need to see and allows me to clear them easily.

Just my $.02
