Home Made Twins
#12
Well fellas, I'm in Iraq right now, so I can't really get to it to see the parts numbers. But part of my job is metal fab, so doin the welding and piping or gettin one of the more experienced guys to do it and tools to do it with is not a problem. I'm getting ready to get a blue chip VP44, Edge Juice, and a FASS system. Hopefully that will be enough fuel. Problem is, I have NO idea as to who to go to to tune it. It's the ECM itself that would have to be tweaked, correct?

Well I guess I,m kinda looking at it a little differently.I know absolutely nothing about that turbo, but isn,t a JD 644 some weres a little north of 400 cu in and in the 200 hp range. If thats the case I doubt that would be big enouph for the primary in a twin setup. The age old standby for a primary in a twin setup being the HT3b was originally off a cummins 855 spec,d at 350 hp by comparison. just my $.02

That particular loader I believe has the 8.1 block in it, which is 496 C.I., compared with your cummins which is 360 cubes. Basically if its tough enough it would be a laggy single charger at best, from what I picture. If you want something to build twins with, you need something off a 619 if you want smaller, street twins, or something off the new 12.5 or 13.5 blocks if you want some kick you in the britches twins. Deere actually used the 855 cummins in the 60 and 70 series 4wd tractors so if you want a deere application of the ht3b, there is a place to start.
