Sorry, cant help you with that.....I would guess a low setting and keeping your foot off the go pedal would be the key for milage....

i have 99 2500 24v.. only had it about 2 months. my fuel pressure is low. 10psi at idle and 6-7psi at 1/2 throttle. 2 months later... i had 0psi after start up yesterday so changed fuel filter right then, started it up and 5psi at idle 1/4 throttle takes it to 0psi... the volume and flow rate, no why its enough.. i was pissed to find out about this weak spot, this is my 1st cummins and im learning everything asap, well my truck has pump intank and no pump on the mount next to motor. can i put a direct replacement style pump back on and delete lift pump in tank? can they be run in line w/ the p.o.s. in tank pump? i think intank pump will fail soon..

Best bet is to go with AirDog or FASS aftermarket lift pumps. Especially if you're planning on bombing your pickup in the future. You can ask one of the site sponsors for a price request and also I'm sure they'll be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions.

You can't run anything with the in tank pump, they are junk... Alot of guys run the draw straw but fuel sump is the way to go, you're going to need either/or to delete the in-tank unit, and you need a good pusher pump as mentioned above. Raptor pump is simple and easy install, best bang for your buck.
