Edge Comp Doesn't Like Cold
#11
I had a similar issue this morning. 10 degrees F out. First time for me (the truck is new to me), and my newly installed Edge CTS monitor beeped when I turned the ignition on and did not power on or display. Once the truck warmed up a bit, I unplugged and re-plugged the OBDC connector and it powered up and worked fine but it did not see the backup camera. I left work today, it was 25 degrees F. No issues then. I may call edge if the issue persists too.

ah very good. Interesting to know. Mine is up to date too in terms of software updates. It's been warm here (above 25 F) so I haven't been able to test this. I will check it tho when the temps get low and report back and / or contact edge. I am in north east Pennsylvania and was up to the Adirondack mtns in NY state snowmobiling on weekends but still warm temps lately, so I have nothing to report (yet!)

Thanks for all of the input fellas! Edge suggested charging the batteries overnight to check if cooler temps were causing low cranking voltage. I tried that with no change. Three times now I've taken the controller in the house overnight and reinstalled it the next morning. This works everytime. All working as normal, however, inconvenient. Winter is short here, so I may deal with the issue instead of sending it off to Edge. As far as BD's Stealth cover, the tamper-resistant torx bit was included as well as the crimp-on connector for the Edge wire. I used heat shrink tubing instead.
