While installing a comp box on my 2000 Dodge Cummins, I discovered my data link connector has been cut off. I don't know why but there's three wires: black/yellow stripe, yellow/green stripe and a yellow/blue stripe. Can I somehow splice the two wires from the edge comp box harness onto the data link connector wires or not? Help!

 

Might be the only option you have you could try a junk yard and see if you can get a used dlc connector and splice it in most junk yards around here tho recycle all wiring and don't keep any wiring. I ran into this problem on a car at work where someone had cut the connector off and the only way to get the connector was with an entire harness that was a chevy tho may be different at dodge

 

^^^That's what I would do. Try to find a new connector and solder it in. That way if you need to remove in the future it will be a simple disconnect and not damage the comp box.

 

Thanks guys. Im going to try to find a wiring harness from a 2000-2002 and maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to simply cut the dlc right off!
