Default Edge Comp Doesn't Like Cold

When the temperature is below around 40F and my truck is cold, my Edge will not turn on until the truck warms up and shut off and then restarted. Have any of you experienced this? If so, why?

I do believe this is normal. I know on my juice/attitude it doesnt add full power till the motor is at operating temp, but it will add some power at a certain temp (130* I think) So the same may go for the comp box as well. Hope this helps

Have you tried cycling power on the Comp once the engine is warmed up? It doesn't sound right though. I had a Comp in Canadian winters, no defueling issues.

Mine doesn't do that at all, and its been down to -20 windchill this winter. And my truck wasn't plugged in.

It doesn't have any lights on the box as if no power at all. Even turning the ignition on and off a few times wont turn it on. No result pushing the Comps power on button either. It only works after a warm engine is shut down and then restarted.

Try bringing the Comp box in with you at night, keeping it warm. That will determine if it is cold acting inn the Comp, or its software.

Thanks guys. RAWilliams, that suggestion worked. After the box was brought to room temperature, I re-installed it and the lights came on automatically. Now, what to do with that information?

I would call Edge and let them know what it is doing. They will ask for the S/N, which will determine warranty or not. I would ask if it is a known problem, and how much it has cost to fix in the past.

If you do have to send it in, act disappointed about the $100 flat rate fee, shipping, and being without it. Then ask of they will do Hot Unlock for free.

That already sounds disappointing. No warranty as I bought it used. Hopefully, the $100 I paid for it will give me some room to have it repaired below the cost of a new box! It seems to work great until it gets too cool for it. I'm expecting the BD Stealth cover in the mail, as I havent tapped the pump wire yet. Any experienced suggestions to the install? And, thank you for your time!

Does the Stealth Plate come with the bit to remove the machine screws? If it doesn't, you'll need a 5 point tamper proof torx bit.
