Explain the 4x4 setting over the 2x2 setting again please? Why would the 4 setting on the timing be better than the 2 setting? and why the sublevel would be better when it is higher?
Thanks!

More timing = better mileage
more fueling = less mileage

The edge comp by design will defuel below stock levels when in sublevels 1-3 in order to control smoke. Part of this defueling is attained by pulling some timing out and that hurts mileage. Untapping the pump wire doesnt allow much, if any additional fueling even in the higher levels, its all timing.

I loaded the Smarty to 4, unplugged the wire, and am running on 4x1 right now. The power is there, but so is the smoke. EGT's are about 100 deg higher than they were with Smarty on stock and Comp on 2x2.

You need to turn that down. I run my smarty stacked with the comp and 150 HP sticks with the smarty on 4 and the comp on 2x1 for next to no smoke and 3x2 for a little more power but lots of black out the back as well.

With the smarty on 4 and the comp on 3x4 or 4x4 I get massive amounts of power, loads of black at low RPM and stupid high EGTs under load (1300F). But as it has been suggested I can cruise the truck at 2 to 7 pounds boost and 300 to 500 F and get really nice numbers as well.

My problem is my stock turbo.

If the sub setting is set on 4, does it matter what "top" setting you cruise for fuel milage?

Yes, most likely. Depending on your setup you will likely want it to be 1x4 for example. Use this on a truck with lots of fuel adds and it will just smoke too much.

The main level dictates MAXIMUM fuel AND timing. Lower the level the less fuel and timing. Highier the level more fuel and timing.

The sublevel dictates how quickly you get to the MAXIMUM fue land timing.

1 - 20 PSI of boost required to get additional fuel and timing.
2 - 15 PSI of boost required to get additional fuel and timing.
3 - 10 PSI of boost required to get additional fuel and timing.
4 - Some additional fuel timing available at 0 PSI of boost.
5 - Maximum fuel and timing available at 0 PSI of boost.

I drove up to Kanadia towing a trailer and here is my mileage:
Smarty 4, Comp 4x2- 13.1 mpg Hand calculated doing 65-70 mph.

After that fillup I changed Comp to 2x1, but haven't filled up yet. I will post here when I fill up.

Ok, I was using the #3 sub to control smoke...no additional fuel until 10psi boost is attained then out of sub-setting then pushed whatever power setting the pyrometer could stand.
If I can get more timing on sub-set #4, I guess I'll have to go lighter on the power setting and the pedal huh?
