no really, with your fuel, you can spool a 62 just fine, and that's the main purpose of a twin setup, use a small turbo and a big one, so you can spool the biggun...but give it a shot.

Try a 62 over like a s400 then your talkin. Your drive pressures have to be getting up there too which will add to the falure of the HG.

my head gasket just blew with a wastegated housing keeping it under 28psi, the shop that's going to do the gasket, studs and porting said he changes several 12v 1st and 2nd gen gaskets a year on bone stock trucks. it's a matter of WHEN the head warps and WHEN the bolts stretch, allowing the old gasket some room to frey/move; high boost and drive pressure only multiplies the odds of WHEN the head gasket WILL blow out. like everyone said, you and your buddy are on borrowed time.
a good technical/vocational school will teach you 'how to learn' and admit that there's no way they can possibly teach you everything you need to know about your career field.

you decide what you want to go with for a turbo? I haven't heard many good things about the HX40's lasting very long; there's a reason you can get ahold of 'em pretty cheap, you get what you pay for. if I had a nickel for every time I've heard running an HX40 is fine as long as you have a spare in your toolbox/bed...
