Intake Horn

Intake Horn
I am wondering if anybody out there has a favorite intake they have made themselves or have had made for them that performs like the $300 and up aftermarket ones from CFM+ and the like. I'm thinking of building my own for my '95 with some 3" exhaust tube and a piece of plate to bolt to the grid heater. Pictures will be greatly appreciated.

Im in the prosess of making a proper jig and maybe mass producing these for the 89-98 cummins. they will be made from 3" polished aluminum, fully tig welded, with ports for boost guages to nitrous injection. they will include all gaskets and hardware, support more than 70psi of boost, and will cost roughly $200. Ill post pics when the prototype is completed and tested.

here's the one I made for my 96, had a couple of stainless elbows sitting around the shop, got pretty ticked off when I pulled my CA EGR intake off and found it necked down to a 1" hole and also necked down at the bolts/flange.
doing it again I think I'd get some close radius tubing and a thicker flange; but this is what I had on hand at the time.

Aluminum will be fine as far as the vibration, and the welds are all tig, so they will seal better, and look better, and the reason for the aluminum is that it displaces heat better and has a higher melting point than mild steel. all intake horns will be pressure tested to 70psi before packageing. Also more cost effective than stainless.
