So i have a WH1C turbo on my 1994 12v and i am wondering what the benifits would be of upgrading to a 12cm exhaust housing. I know i would notice alot quicker spool up, but would i have a lower max boost, or would i notice alot higher egts?

 

quicker spool, more boost, tuned right should lower egts since you have more boost, depends on pump and wastegate tuning tho

 

If it is a wh1c it already has the 12cm wastegated housing. If it's a h1c it's the non wastegated turbo. The wastegated turbo will spool alot faster.

 

ditto its already a 12 and no matter what you do with it it will be choked out in the higher rpms.

 

ok, so i already have a 12cm housing, but what do you mean it will be choked out at higher rpms? and should i get a better wastegate while im at it since mine is broken anyway?

 

How much boost is it making now?

 

the turbo is just small. it cant move big amounts of air in or out. great little turbo but its little so its choky in the higher rpms it cant breathe well
