Default turbo education

my current turbo is a hx40 compressor with a hx35 exhaust fan and 14cm housing, im wondering if putting a 40 exhaust fan it would improve my spool up and boost levels? bigger fan=more surface area? i know i would have to get the housing machined to fit over the fan, can anyone with a lave do that? or do you really have to know what your doing?

Put the 40 turbine in a 12cm exhaust housing, and let the good times roll.

As far as the machining goes anybody with a lathe can do it. Just takes some fitting to get it in there.

The 40 turbine is bigger and flows better. Open up the wastegate so both sides get regulated and have fun. Also when i've machine housings to take bigger wheels it opens them up a little big so its not as tight as it was. If you wanted to hook up a drive pressure gauge to check that wouldn't be a terrible idea.

Don't do 024s do 022s they flow like a laser cut with way less heat. And an hx40 is not a good choice the shafts twist or break when they bark the 35/40 hybrid is an ok setup if you want the flow of a 40 and a fast spool go with the he351 ce of an 04.5 to 07 common rail that's what I run

i know about the shaft issues with the 40s, i only make the turbo bark when i want it too or some tard is driving my truck, my current 14 is a non wastegated housing and if i went to a 16 it would probally be non gated as well, the he351 was another option i was considering, will that turbo bolt up to a stock 3.5 v-band exhaust pipe?

you think i will notice that much over my current turbo huh? my 40 is a 60/60/14 divided and the he351 is 60/60/9 non-divided right? which makes it about an 11 divided
