Transmisssion weak points
leave the adjustment a little loose on the 5:1 lever. i've heard it'll even bind on a stock truck... i've had the stocker bind on me in the 727. some shift kits (reprogram kits) claim they can solve the exact same issue and dont say anything about the band adjustment.

what about the low reverse piston? i actually just got done putting 300 bucks into PATC parts. i've heard it can **** and get stuck even leading to breakage. according to the trans kit i just bought; you can actually modify the stock piston to prevent the problem, but a new one only runs like 39 bucks or something like that.

I have the fix for that problem already. I have an awesome transmission instructor at school and quite a bit of experience with the 46re and the 727 from the neighbors race car and a few other dodge trucks. Thanks for the input though.
np man, i spent a few bucks for these shims from PATC they go in between the pistons on the 2-3 shift supposed to make the shift pretty crisp, the shift reprogram kit i have actually came with a ring and i assume thats the purpose of it... wish i would have know before i spent the extra money on un-needed parts
Yeah it helps to have a baby sitter to help with parts selection. I'm not buying a shift kit as i make my own for parts. I've been tought to do so and there fore only buy what i need. A few sonnax parts goes a very long way.
yeah, i bought the sonax super servo kit, and the sonax accumulator piston. low/reverse piston, the transgo shift kit, heavy duty strut, achor and 5:1 lever. a MagHytec trans pan to polish it off, trans should be a whole new animal. its got a lower stall convertor, just not a "performance" convertor. i'm looking forward to workin on it, just have to wait for better weather. we just got hit with a foot of snow
If you use an after market flexplate the depth will be off they sell a 1/8 inch spacer that goes between the bell and motor also dont forget the six gear planet set a must ! I have been building sence the 80s good luck!
