you can get almost 100 horse from your pump grind your plate down to a #0 and turn the starwheel all the way. If you look at either the diesel power magazine or diesel world one of them in there last article they dynoed there 95 before and after pump work and they gained almost 100 horse for no cost

You can get more out of a beched pump than you will ever get out of a simple yanking the plate method. With attempting to get to 650 the beched pump is gonna be a neccesity in my opinon.

So if you max out the pump you need a fuel plate? What will happen if you take it out?

You don't need a fuel plate, when a pump is benched they will provide you with a sheet that tells you how many cc's your pump can flow. If you ask they can scribe marks in the housing for plate pos, for example with a 0 plate in the stock pos my pump will flow 450 cc's, plate FF 500 cc, and no plate 550 cc.

what exactly is done to a pump when they max the cc's of fuel on it.
