Can you hit up a track for a couple of practice runs before you race him?

Go ahead and get the DV's, but I would definately try to get a turbo upgrade before too long.

get some practice, if you can't get onto a track, figure out a 1/4 mile, get someone to start you and time you. If you know you can do the time to beat him, then all you have is RT to screw you up. Keep in mind that car has traction control, etc, and it'll be hard for him to screw up his launch.
Double check that car is stock though. People are running closer to high 13s in real life than what the brochure says.

good luck in your race, it sounds like its gonna be closer than you think. Make sure you get a video of the race when you do it.

I'd disagree on laser cuts especially with a stock turbo. Your going to be waaaaaay overfueled.

No plate, 370s, and laser cuts with a stock HX35? All that would probably choke that little turbo out.
