Default Wastegate mod question

alright my wastegate has a hard line that goes from wastegate to turbo housing...about a 2inch hard metal line with a 90* bend in it...i tried the turnbuckle thing and didnt like it...plus my gauge maxes at 30lbs...i want the wastegate set at 30psi max...i know u can do the boost elbow thing with wastegates with the rubber line...my rod is frozen up and i dont want to do the Jhook or turnbuckle with springs either...something cheap also...any ideas?

rod frozen up? is it the wastegate actuator or is it the wastegate thats built into the turbo? pull the wastegate off and try to move the rod on the turbo itself. currently i have a coat hanger wraped around mine to keep it boosting since my wastegate was messed up

no i mean the actuator rod has threads and looks like it could be adjustable but i cant move it...my wastegate is operating normally...getting right at 24-25psi max

Hey, so I was looking to do the boost elbow mod, but my setup isn't like any of the pictures I saw or instructions I read, then I came across this post. I have a threaded rod from the turbo, running to what I'm guessing is the wastegate. There's a line running from that to the back of the AFC housing.

Is this the setup you guys are talking about? If I just shorten that threaded rod, I can adjust the pressure for the wastegate?

mine is not what you have...i have no line running to the afc housing or anywhere...ive got a short little metal line about 2" long that makes a 90* turn...goes from the wastegate to the turbo...not sure why mine is like this since most everyone ive seen on here has the type like yours with the rubber line...im sure someone that knows these setups well will chime in soon cuz im pretty new to this so im not all that familiar with it all

When I was looking up about the elbow, and saw the pictures people had, I thought I had something totally different. In between the 2 parts of the turbo, I have the braided oil line come in in top. Directly below that, another line that looks like it goes back to the oil pan. Then, a pedestal thing with what I'm guessing is the wastegate hanging off, and the only line from that goes to the back of the AFC housing to a T, where there is an 1/8" hard line that I can't follow back, I'm not sure where it goes. I'll try to follow it tomorrow when the engine isn't hot.

Scroll down to the pic with the elbow circled in red. I don't have any line there.

Wow. I couldn't open the second page at work, but I just read it. It answers both our questions. There are 2 different set ups, yours where you install the elbow at the turbo, on the line that goes to the wategate, and mine where you install it on the back of the AFC housing, on the tube that goes to the wastegate.
