choosing the right turbo
Ok i want to put 90 horse SDX injectors in my truck but need some help choosing what turbo to go with. I do pull trailers some and if i do pull its heavy but mostly i do alot of daily driving. Would it be better to go with a 62/65/12 or a 64/65/12 I am worryed the 62 wont make enof air under a load. Would it be better to go with a HTB2 or a D teck or a phat shaft. I would like to hear yalls personal opinions also so speek aloud. THANK YOU

I have the SDX 5 x .012s and the D-Tech 62/65/12. It hasn't been on the road long and I'm waiting on a trans, so I haven't pushed it real hard yet. But so far it seems to be a great combo. Spools fairly quick, not much smoke or egts, so far.
Love the injectors so I'd recommend them without question. As far as turbos go, I drive a lot in town and in traffic, so I wanted really quick spooling, but was worried about egts. So I bought a number of turbos and disassembled them to inspect the internals. The HX40 isn't up to the s300 turbos strength wise. The D-Tech, Super B and Phat Saft all had the Borg cartridges, so quality wise it was a wash. The Super B had outstanding machine work, with the Phat Shaft and D-Tech a litlle behind. The main thing that stood out internally was that the D-Tech had much more wastegate movement. Since I may spray it on the track, I really liked that. But it will need a boost elbow to take advantage of the range.
Based on what I saw I would say:
If you don't push it hard (400hp) and want really quick spooling, the Super B 57/65/14 would work well.
If you push it harder, (450hp+) but still need quick spooling, the D-Tech 62/65/12 would work well.
If you can put up with a touch more lag to get lower egts, a Phat Shaft or similar 62/65/14 would be a good bet.
If you're trying for 500hp+ then the 62/68/12 or 14 would be a good bet.
Hope that helps you out some.

id do like me and go with the 62/65/12, i got a d teck on mine and the sdx 5x12s, it spools fast as hell, cools good on top and wastgates nice, smooth and on point. I hit about 42 psi with my set up and you can watch the boost and drive pressure gauges hit about 43 and then drop and hold to 40 to 42 psi. I realy like it. On a hard wot run from 3rd to 5th and about 100 mph i can hit 1350 to 1400egts but before the turbo i could peg the 1500 pyro in any gear above 2nd in a hurry..
