Why would you even consider running without a downpipe? You figure just cruising your exhaust has to be at minimum 600*.... What happens at WOT? You're easily going to see 1000+ degrees and all that dumping into the engine compartment where something could easily catch fire....

If your thinking of doing the HX40 you have to get a new downpipe. The downpipe on the 35s bolt on to a bottled down exhaust elbow while the downpipe on the 40s clamp on to the back of the turbo itself... Your better off finding a 35 if your can't afford to do the new downpipe

running with out a downpipe is absolutely stupid, i wouldnt even recomend running the truck in park more than a minute or two at idle with out one. as for the turbos ur looking for, there not even a true hx40. if u read, im sure they say there a 56mm turbo, which is actualy a hx35, and has a 3 inch exhaust. no matter what, ur gonna do what u want to so good luck with it.

i dont want to be an *** at all either, but come on man just listen. i just gave you 5 different reasons why it is a stupid purchase. as well as other people have said not to buy them as well. especially if your only running it temporarily. why spend 500 dollars on a junk temporary setup that you wont even be able to resell because you have a junk chinese knock off. spend 300-350 bucks on an hx35 that you can resell later and make your money back and be done with it.

also, as for how does the wastegate not clear the oil drain. just because it comes with its own wastegate that has nothing at all to do with how your factory pipe bends. they are a different bend and will hit. ask me how i know
So how would I get the oil drain to clear it? Thanks for the input

The stock downpipe doesn't even use a band clamp. It is held on by two bolts that bolt onto the elbow... That is why 4" DPs for HX35s bottle down at the top
