Did he use a new washer?????....
That is very critical when setting ones timing as if you do not symptoms like he is describing will happen. The old washer when reused does not have enough tension to help keep the nut in place and the timing will keep slipping.

I think I found my problem. When I loosen #5 injector nut on fuel line it stops popping in the intake and just starts missing like it normally would. So it's pry a burnt or cracked intake valve??

And i'm still running 181 delivery valves until I get twins.

No sir I haven't yet. I'm going to diesel tech school and I only have that class in the mornings so my time is kinda limited to look at it. But when I pull the injector in the morning what should i look for on it? The push rods aren't bent there still perfectly straight.

Hey 94 12valve I pop tested my injectors this morning and at first the #5 (the bad cylinder) injector wouldn't even build a 100 bar so I took it off and reset the seat on the nut and checked it again and it pops at 270 bar which is right for 75hp injectors and the other 5 injectors all pop tested to 270 bar.

My instructor here at this school wants me to take the air hose and fill #5 cylinder with air to see if its leaking before I pull the head. Does that make any sense at all??

so it was opening before 100bar?

you could blow air in there if you wish, just make sure the valves are closed. IMO I think you found the problem with that one injector

I think you've found your problem. When I commented earlier I thought you had already popped your injectors sorry for the misread.
