Project 700hp
I've decided to park my 12v and build it. I'm looking to hit about 650-700hp. I don't know if I'll be able to do it with my 180 pump but I want to get as close as I can with it. I know its not going to be an overnight process but I need some suggestions on what it'll take to get me their.
Right now I've already got a 5" exhaust going to a 8" stack, no plate, rack plug, tuned AFC slid FF, airdog 150, 4K GSK, 60lb Valve Springs, CAI, Banks Twin Ram Intake, Snow W/M stg2, studs and o ringed.
I plan on doing a 64/s480 compound setup w/ a pulse manifold, 5x16 injectors, .22 DVs, dual fed pump, and a Hamilton big stick cam. What else would you recommend? Bigger crossover tubes?

700hp is going to need at least 500cc's of fuel with twins and if the pump has not been off the truck your not even close for fuel.
Camshaft is not needed for 650-700 but if you feel the need to spend the money its your truck.
Dual feeding the pump is not needed for 650-700 but again if you feel the need to spend your money its your truck.
Oversized injector lines are not needed for 650-700 but if you feel the need to spend the money its your truck.
Here is a perfect example of a "properly tuned" 12v shown in this photo.
Aside from all the chrome and bling bling the only 3 visible additions to his truck are the oversized injection lines, water injection and the nitrous lurking about. No "dual fed" pump, the plate is in it,no cut DV"s just a good old fashioned quality build with loads of tuning to get it right. At 802hp on fuel only there is no one that can say his tune is not right.
Lets also not forget that he has a 64mm S300 variant up top and a basic S400 below.I aksed him about a S480 and why he did not run one below his top S300 variant. His answer was this "The S480 made about 80 more HP on the dyno than the current S400 I have now, but, when you tried to drive the S480 on the street it was slow to light and way to smoky for me".So in the name of drivability he left 80hp on the table so he could enjoy it on the street, thats tuning to me........Andy
P.S.-The engine bay your looking at is John Porterfields "Red Rocket" when he was at one of my dyno shows and laid 802 down on fuel and 892 with giggle gas, then drove home with the truck.

This is around my HP goal also. I was going to try and use the smallest turbo's possible and still be able to support the fuel. I was told an hx40(60mm version) over a s475 was good for 650-700hp, but I plan on running a non-gated s360 (60/68/.91) over a s475 and a external wastegate.
Good luck with your build.

Engine internals that are not built as stock are the Schied Arias Pistons,a camshaft and some head port work.Brad Ingram built it for John and it was tuned on the dyno for power with the thoughts on longevity and daily driving/competition.That truck is driven to every show he goes to no matter where it is in the country. Its backed by a full tilt ATS transmission and if you would ever chat with him he loves driving it more than his CR truck. There are no smoke and mirrors on the truck and no dual feeds for the pump, just a quality build and a alot of tuning to get what he wanted.
