I hope your head studded and have the head o-ringed to get to 500.

To run the timing needed to make that you will find that not being o-ringed and not having studs is a recipe for problems and alot of extra work.

Hp is not a cheap happening and we all call it "Cubic Money".It how much money you want to spend to get the needed cubes to make the power you want.....Andy

P.S.-Water Meth and no studs/o-rings=easily blown headgasket....

18 degrees timing=head-gasket issue

At 16.5 degree you are pushing the envelope of safe.

No Money to the job correctly=Don't waste your time

All you will end up with is bigger problems and alot more incurred cost than you would have had you taken the time to do it correctly the first time.

My advice is stay happy with the 477 until you can do what you need to prevent bigger issues. However,I know its not my truck and you will do what you want anyway.

If cash flow is an issue then 500hp is not the right goal in life. The more hp the more the upkeep on these trucks costs. All that extra hp wears parts out quick and it is a never ending turn around on new parts after that.
