Not tryin to get in a pissin contest with anybody here or tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Just seen a lot of guys get in trouble through the years and wanted to make sure you knew what you were gettin into. Over this computer I have no way to know what your experience level is.

why cant yall just get along anyway cheap 500 horse lets see oringed head head studs hx40 20* of timing 181s 4k gsk 60lb valve springs no plate and 370s should do. now im sayin 370s becuase they are cheap not because they are great you will be better off with a good set of 5x.012s or even 5x.013s. these are just engine mods and driveline issues will bear there ugly heads.

just start feeding your truck raw meat and gunpowder.

save the money up, get a new cam( aftermarket) then send your pump out and have it honed to the biggest (i think 13mm) get new plungers installed and injectors, then a turbo s300 is good for 500 hp just this should get you really close or past 500

I believe we all gave you the answer.......
There is NO CHEAP way to get to 500hp....End Of Question and Answer period.

Bubba...
I am not sure if he means you or me,but,It doesn't matter as he doesn't like being called out about his dumb azzed posts which tell you nothing but what his buddies do anyway.

And an answer for you to 94cummins12v...
All you need to do is go spend some time on the NW Bomber Board and you will find more than enough 500+ hp trucks within an earshot of you to say that you would not be the only one in or around your area.BTW,how does that seat-o-pants-dynometer work that tells you your at 500 work?.

Back up a little bit here big man. You asked the question and when it was answered you said funds are an issue. All we tried to do was respond to the information you were giving us.

You are valued here as a member but if you wanna bring this into real world terms here since were wearin our dresses out tonight, for us to be offended by you, we would first have to care about what you think of us. Sorry were just not that close and personal yet. We all have friendships that were developed on this board and care what those folks think of us, someday hopefully you will be included in these ranks but for now you are just another one of the masses of new and young members that were tryin to integrate into the family.

If you dont want advice or opinions - this isnt the place for you.

Many of these guys have learned what to do and what not to do through PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, and they are passing along the experience and answers to your questions. The only one that seems to have an attitude here is you. But we can fix that pretty quick.

As for the technical questions - you either have the money to do it right - or you dont. Building a diesel is not like building a gasser where you can spend a couple thousand and go racing. You need to build it right the first time with the best parts you can find - or it will nickle and dime you to death and cause you to drink.

yeah what doc said, everybody wants a 500 hp truck and then when stuff starts breaking they will be like well why didnt someone tell me...Ive tried to stop doing things half assed on my truck lately..cause of said nickel and dime repairs.

go ask a guy in a 2.6 pullin class, which is the lowest of the pulling classes other then the work stock guys, how much they have in their engines to be at a high horsepower and reliable week in and week out at the pulls...mind you that is only 2 maybe 3 pulls a week and you will probably crap your self... 10-20k is not uncommon of a number and that like i said is just for a 2.6 truck
