Default Swapping Parts

Hi there. Im new here and looking for some advice and guidance. The other day i picked up a 94 4wd truck for parts for my 90. Only thing wrong with the 94 is a bad injection pump and really high milage. The 90 has less than 100k on the truck, but its only 2 wheel drive with a 727 with the only mods being that i turned the pump up and put a straight pipe in place of the muffler. The 94 has a new od transmission and good tranfer case. What i'm looking to do is turn the 90 into a 4wd truck with a p pump, od transmission and hit the 500 hp mark. There are alot of potential starting points, and even considered body and engine swaps. Anyhow, my head is spinning and i'm looking for some ideas and a good starting point. Many thanks

How do you know the 94 has a bad injection pump?
I have rarely seen a "bad" P7100 on a truck, usually its something else fuel related....Andy

The guy I bought it from claimed to have had it at a reputable shop and said that thats what they told him. I have had my doubts too. I went as far as buying batteries but realized the tank was missing. Havent been able to track the guy down since I bought the truck. I probably should dig a bit deeper before I send the pump off.

Do i need a stand alone box for the trans swap?

I have seen a p pump go bad... cracked gov assembly.... But im with Andy i would get it checked out! Is the 90 a Reg cab? If they measure the same I would say the easiest thing to do would be a put the 90 on the 94 chassis. But things never go that easy. Whats the 94s "high" milage?

Since the truck is a '94, it will have the 47RH. The only things you would need control for are the OD and torque converter lockup; both of which can be controlled by a switch. I don't remember off the top of my head how the speedometer reads. It's either off the transfer case or the transmission.

Anyway, I would make damn sure the injection pump is "bad". Like any mechanical part, they can go bad. But the failure rate for them isn't exactley high.

Both trucks are regular cabs. The 94 has 470k on it. Nothing has been done to the eng on the 94, but the transmission, transfer case, and front end were rebuilt about 5000 ago. Does anyone know of anyone who has done the swap with the bodies. I have a feeling that It should go pretty smooth aside from some fabwork for the radiator, intercooler, and possibly some of the body mounts. I also thing it would be better because a good amount of money will be saved as all af the front suspension will already be there.
