Default This might be a stupid question...

I am looking to take the black plastic trim piece off the bottom of the front bumper of my truck.. Its cracked, and I never really liked the way it looked. My question is, does anyone know how to get that piece out? It looks like its held in there by some square clips, but Im not sure how to get those to pull out. Any help is appreciated.

just pull on it, it'll come off. not like yer gonna hurt any thing..

just look on the back side of the bumper. clips are like an arrow tip.
/\ just squeeze the ends together and push em' through.

If I'am not mistaken, I think that it should just pull out. But you will have all those little holes showing in your bumper were the plastic inserts you are talking about are suppose to go, if you pull it off you probably won't be able to put it back in because the clips will be broke.

The clips on that plastic piece on the bottom of the bumper come in from the bottom of the bumper, so you couldn't see the holes...

I have to agree with Bow...just yank it out! I had a 04.5 and I wanted to add the spoiler off the sport appearance pkg, and I uses a grinder to buzz them off where they came up into the steel portion of the bumper, but it got tiring quick, so I just ripped the rest of it off!

Oh ya that's right I was thinking of my 97 dodge were they had 10,000 little holes in the bumper to hold that plastic piece in.

I really don't like the bolts that are held in by clips on the bottom.. What a PITA that is. I ended up sticking a screwdriver in at the bolts, and breaking the thing off, and for now, the bolts are sticking down. I can't seem to get an open ended wrench in there to get the bolts out. If it comes down to it, I will just take a grinder or sawzall to the ends of the bolts that are sticking down to make them flush with the bottom of the bumper. Thanks for the encouragement guys.. took all of 10 minutes to rip the bastard off

Looks better now, doesn't it. Mine cracked so I yanked my off also. It made the truck look a little taller in the front whereas it looks like I really don't need a leveling kit now.

I think it looks much better.
