Default Rpm surge between shifts

I recently bought a 04.5 6 speed manual. It has 75,000 miles on it.
I've noticed that if I shift at high rpms the engine stays reved up when I push the clutch in. Any ideas? It has an edge ez on it.

Normal for a stock engine, even more so with some power adders.

The CR systems ramp fuel down to keep from blowing the rail and injectors up, they don't just chop the fuel like a jerk pump.
