Default Injection rejection

I put a head on my truck. I suspected a leaking injector the next day because every time I would start it after sitting a while the engine would knock and blow a huge plum of white smoke. Last night traveling about 70 mph the truck began to run very ruff so I babied it off the interstate. Smoking like a frieght train and running terrible. I through an OTC scanner on it and have a P0303 code and a dead #3 cylinder when I kill each injector. Here is my question....I capped off the #3 fuel rail to kill the fuel supply but the truck still blows clouds of white smoke. Why?

So is my money. At almost $400 a pop. a set of injectors are not in the budget.

You can send them in and have them remand for half the money. Only bad part is the turn around time.
