I have had a leak coming from the trans for about a year now. Not much leaking, only about a nickle size spot once and a while.

But as of late the leak is seeming to get a little worse and I would like to fix it before I have to fix it.

I have attached pictures to show the placement of the leak.

To help answer some of the questions here are the answers.

NO, It isn't engine oil.
NO, It isn't brake fluid.
NO, It isn't blowing back from the blow by tube. (blow by tube was extended 8'')
NO, There are no other leaks on the entire truck that would allow that drip to occur.

My question is where could this trans fluid be coming from and how hard is the fix.

The trans fluid could be coming from the front seal where in input shaft goes in. and i have no idea how hard it would be to fix. should be straight forward once the unit is out. found this for you(goes way further then you should have too)http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf/...p?topic=6270.0

 

I would have to guess an input shaft seal too

 

looks like front seal, not bad to do at all once trans is out.

 

Never done one but i cant imagine replacing the seal is too hard to replace... Droppin the transmission is the real pain

 

well i cant see any better time then to upgrade your clutch... its coming out anyways

 

just take this cover off and you'll see the seal for the input shaft and an oil guide that will need to be replaced as well. then use anaerobic gasket maker to seal the cover back on.
