I have a friend with an 04 CCLB and he says he has a clicking noise underneath his truck but only in reverse. I know a little bit about vehicles first thought was a u joint, but wouldn't that click in both directions? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

 

just fixed an 01 maximizer with a similar problem. it would kinda squeal under light acceleration never in reverse. ended up being a dry u-joint right off the tail shaft of the t case. give it a good look if its getting wore out you will be able to wiggle it ever so slightly if the truck is in nutral.
