I have a 2004.5 dodge cummins and i was driving the other day and started hearing a nasty banging from the engine got it back to the shop, now if i start it it runs like a dream but the second it changes any rpm it starts banging in the engine like it going to blow apart we checked all the injectors and and lifters and its not them any ideas?

 

Figure anything out?

 

no nothing now she is just sitting in the yard under 4 ft of snow driving my old 93 till i get some time but i dont even know where else to look

 

Is it a manual or a automatic?

im not sure if that year had a dualmass flywheel or not but that would be sumthing to check.

probably dropped a valve seat! Pull the valve cover and take a look!
