My wife is one of those tough Alaska chicks, when we met she knew more about diesels than I did. She loves driving my truck. As long as I keep momma happy I can do whatever I want to the thing.!

These trucks are pretty tough, you're not going to hurt it by starting it without the grid heater, or driving normal when it's cold. It is harder on a cold engine to sit there and run cold than it is to put a normal (unloaded) load on it to get it warmed up.

Unless you're running a ton of power, pulling a huge load, it ain't gonna hurt it any to shut it off when you get there either. How often do you have the pyro pegged right before you park? Generally, I slow down before I stop the truck.

My DW doesnt like driving mine unless we re on the hiway.
Its not that she s afraid of damaging it, she feels its too big for her vertically challenged self to handle in city traffic.

I got the problem solved. I have a wife that don't drive and I need my truck for work, so the truck goes where I go.

I got my ol lady trained on how to drive mine, she doesn't like to because it is too long for her. But if she needs it, she can use it.
