My 05 does, my Dads 06 doesnt.

I dont know why they would change it

You can always get a Bully Dog power pup/triple dog, it has high idle option you control with your cruize control buttons

Not sure if there is a difference between 05 and 06, or if they got rid of it. It should be in the owner's manual, I think. The temperature for it to kick in is pretty cold, I believe it has to be below 30* ambient temp. Also, when you start the truck you can't touch any pedals or that overrides it. So if you give it a little gas, or you start it with your foot on the brake it won't do it.

My o6 is doing it right now. I just started my truck and it is so cold outside but it was idling around 1000 rpm! i guess its cold enough.

You have to have the dealer enable it. I know that my 06 has the automatic idle up feature enabled, takes it up to 1000 RPM, the manual high idle can also be enabled on auto trucks without needing any additional parts. Us manual guys have to get a jumper wire for it to work on ours.

First time I saw it was this morning. It was abot 35-37 degrees and after about thirty seconds it jumped up to 1100 rpm with a very cyclic chugging. Sounded just like our big 5 ton trucks at work.

IIRC all engines from 2004 on should have the automatic idle up feature enabled from the factory. If your high idle does not work take it in to the dealer to have it fixed. Its the manual high idle that works with the cruise control that you to have enabled by the dealer.

My 06 does it. Not usually for too long though.

some trucks come with the automatic high idle and some dont. Your dealer can flash the truck for the "false idle" which is controlled by your cruise, accel and decel buttons. My dealer did the 06 and dads 05 for free and only took about 10 min for them to do so.

automatic high idle will activate when the weather is cold enough but it will automatically go back to a idle once it meets its parameters.

False Idle (High idle) controlled by the steering wheel (03-present) will enable you to rev from 1100-1500rpm which is controlled by the accel and decel buttons. It will come off the false idle if you press the brake or gas pedal and will not be affected by the block heater

Great option for us guys in the cold!! Too bad were not able to turn it on or off on the 2nd gens
