High Idle

Not sure if there is a difference between 05 and 06, or if they got rid of it. It should be in the owner's manual, I think. The temperature for it to kick in is pretty cold, I believe it has to be below 30* ambient temp. Also, when you start the truck you can't touch any pedals or that overrides it. So if you give it a little gas, or you start it with your foot on the brake it won't do it.

some trucks come with the automatic high idle and some dont. Your dealer can flash the truck for the "false idle" which is controlled by your cruise, accel and decel buttons. My dealer did the 06 and dads 05 for free and only took about 10 min for them to do so.
automatic high idle will activate when the weather is cold enough but it will automatically go back to a idle once it meets its parameters.
False Idle (High idle) controlled by the steering wheel (03-present) will enable you to rev from 1100-1500rpm which is controlled by the accel and decel buttons. It will come off the false idle if you press the brake or gas pedal and will not be affected by the block heater
Great option for us guys in the cold!! Too bad were not able to turn it on or off on the 2nd gens
