the clearance lights from Dodge came w/ a template, cost $65 and don't leak. the painful part was drilling 15 holes in the cab........

Its not too bad. And you can buy the smoked recon lights with a wiring harness for those trucks without stock cab lights. Im pretty sure it comes with a template, but even if it doesn't, they have instalation instructions on their web sight. You can use a dry erase marker or or blue painters tape and a sharpie to mark it out without the template. I think the wiring is even completely plug and play on these 3rd gens. To seal them, just use silicone caulking/sealer around all the wholes. Don't put so much that it gobs out the sides but don't be too shy with it either. All in all, as long as you think you can handle putting 15 holes in the top of your cab and seal them, it's a pretty easy do it your selfer. And it only takes a few hours and that's if you go really slow and really take your time. Good luck and I hope this helps.

It was not as hard as it sounds. I did it on my 05. I advise you to use a wet erase marker not a dry erase marker. You can accidently wipe off a dry erase and the wet erase has to be wet to wipe off. The harness that comes with the Recon lights is long enough to reach the factory cab light plug on the passenger side of my windsheild. I did not have to run back to the headlight switch and splice into it. Hope this helps. I love the lights, got mine from lukesdiesel at diesel dawgs.
