Default 07 cummins in an 04.5

i have a 2004.5 ho. that crapped the bed. i can pickup an 07 engine for a pretty good price. i was wondering is it a direct replacement or what would i have to modify to make it work. i know i would need the 07 brain, will my current transmission work or will i need the 07 tranny too. are the plugs on the wiring harness the same?

Use the 04.5 computer and wiring harness. You'll need to use the valve cover, rocker box, heater grid, and apps off of the 04.5.

Rocker box- also known as lower valve cover. Part where your injector connectors are mounted to.
APPS- accelator pedal postion sensor/ throttle postion sensor. Mounted by three bolts to the left front of engine.

it is like driving a cadillac, i've been driving my 83 military chevy for the last year, no a/c and no radio. it wasn't bad in the winter, but summer in florida was a killer.
