Default stock boost pressures

what should i be getting for stock boost pressure? I have an 04 cummins. I am seeing around 26-28psi max. What are the best ways to get a little more boost without the possiblities of overpressuring?

How are u reading the boost pressure? Mechanical gauge or digital through a monitor or something like that? I thought the standard was right at 35psi and at 40psi with a boost fooler.

i am reading it through a monitor. bully dog gt diesel tuner... I dont have a fooler or anything like that. If I put a fooler on it will it read the actual boost pressure?

No because then your fooling the computer. My gauge is several psi higher than what my outlook monitor is showing because of that.

it will read right if you tap into your bully dog or boost fooler harness at the map sensor and not the factory harness then it should read the right saide after it has been fooler thats how my old quad worked you can find it on there install instructions

26-28 stock is about right. A Quad boost fooler and Smary Jr. got me to 35.

Right now my bully dog is plugged into my obdm port under the steering wheel. If I put the boost fooler into the map sensor (inside engine compartment on fire wall) will my monitor read the correct boost or will it be fooled also?

The boost fooler plugs into the harness between the sensor and the harness. you will have to put your pickup wire at the sensor before the boost fooler!

yeah you should have to splice into the boost fooler out at the sensor . i was told that the smarty jr does boost fooling and that adding a fooler with the jr will not benifit anything idk
