Default ok boys... tell me what's wrong.

For the last week, my truck thinks the key is in the ignition when it isn't. door won't lock, radio stays on with the doors open....and it dings like the door is open even when it's not....doesn't do it everytime I cut it off, but it does it alot and it's getting downright aggravating.

could be an ignition switch short.. or short in the steering column I know.. but how to make it stop is what I need to know....I've done everything from turning the key off and on, to tilting the wheel, to starting it back up.....etc..... HELP!!

Spray some lube in the key hole and put the key in and out alot wiggle it around see if that helps. If it thinks a door is open check the door sensors for a short or break.

lube in the key hole??? seriously?? the key doesn't stick.... wow lots of answers on here ... it don't think the door is open.. it thinks the key is still in the ignition when it isn't. it's not throwing any codes either.

A little lube never hurt anything! Seriously I was thinking the pin inside was getting stuck! Start simple work your way up!

Mine did this at one time, the suggestions about the lube are right on for the fix I needed.

Thanks guys for the input.....it only does it when I'm by myself and in a hurry... go figure on that one.. when Kevin is in the truck with me... it won't do it. Damn truck hates me.

I'll try the lube... and go from there. Troy I'll call you too

Try dissecting the BAT's for 10 mins then replace. This some time will fix it.
