Default cruise control problems.....

I dont really know how to explain this but I'll do the best I can.

I have an 03 2500 cummins auto and lately the cruise control has been sluggish and its really starting to get annoying . When you engage it it takes it a while to kick in and when it does finally kick in its 5 to 10mph less then when you hit the button. When I start up hills its looses 5 to 10 mph before it actually starts giving fuel to accelerate, and doesnt actually ever give enough to get up the hill. (I end up having to put my foot on the accelerator to get it back up to speed). When I hit the accel button on the steering wheel it barely accels and sometimes not at all.

Is this a common problem? Any help to point me in the right direction would be great!

hard black plastic line that t's right in the middle of the firewall. There is a canister for reserve in the cowl and the lines go to the compressor and the servo on the other end.Check for cracks and esp near batt box.dont have to pull batt box, just feel till you find the rubber connector that plugs into servo and pull it up so you can get to it.it souds like it has a leak in the line.

That is exactly what my problem was....bought the smallest vacuum line I could find......broke off the hard plastic line....replaced it with flexible line.....problem solved.
