Help!

Well gents...Just got back from talking with the dealership about the fate of my baby....Apparently the rough idle and vibration was not created by the injectors as I have been hoping...According to them the problem lies in cylinders 2 and 5...They r going to run a compression test in the morning because they r fairly certain that my baby has internal engine damage  ...The cylinder head in coming off on monday...If the problem is the head then I should have my truck back in a week...Heaven forbid that the problem is the block because then it could be up to a month if not longer...
I think Im gonna go cry now...

Moose,
How long have you had the Smarty on it and at what setting? You did remove it before you took in it to the dealer? If they find out you had one on it you may be looking at a big repair bill! I read about one person who had to get a new engine at 1300 miles but it was said to be a reman engine and not new, don't know if its true just what I read.

Had the smarty on for about a month...had it on the stock program for about a week before i took it to the dealer...first thing they did was to reflash the ecm so n e evidence that might have been there was eradicated...From talking to the service manager and techs I have a feeling they wouldnt have done n e thing if they somehow found out unless I had lots of other goodies on the truck as well...Going back to talk to them on monday...time will tell

Yeah they had problems with these new motors when they first came out with the whole white smoke and rough idle too though, didn't they? Mine has a sticker under the hood where they reflashed the ecm. I remember when I first got my truck, people kept tellin me about it and I haven't had any problems though. Which I did buy it with 122,000 on it. May just be the computer actin up or the wrong programmin to begin with. Just calm down and research it a little more, may just be a manufacturer F-UP. After I heard about it, is when the whole high idle enable crap came to my attention. If it is the compression, say bye bye to the pistons or rings that were in it. That is the problem we are having with our tractor, white smoke, hard to start, and a big vibration. We just rebuilt the motor with the addition of a turbo and are most likely going to find that the wrong pistons were used, hardly any compression at all. The pistons were supposed to be a larger size. I am sorry to hear about your luck, just remember, screw ups do happen when large amounts of parts are manufactured even in engines and computers where the quality assurance is supposed to be thru the roof. It'll be aight.
