I want to instal one of thoes overhead computors that have outside temp,compass,fuel economy, yadda yadda ya. really just want the part that showes north east south west, and the outside temp. they come stock on the slt trucks. does my truck have the wiering for this? is it possible to get one and install it from a junked truck?

 

Sure find a wrecked truck and get the unit with the wiring harness that goes from the overhead down under the dash! Should be a plug in unit. See if you already have the wiring, does your rearview mirror have any wiring going to it?

 

Cool. i will look into it more. i dont have any options really other than cruise control, and air condioning. other than thats its just a 6speed 4x4 Bare bones. has anyone done this? i have heard that non power options trucks like mine that didnt come with power seats or what not, have the plugs to plug in the power seats...dont know how true this is...any comments?

 

Just look under the seat! or maybe the carpet I think the main harness is set up for all options but only the ones needed are used. The rest are tucked away.

 

That would be awesome, cause then i can get some of the options i want from the slt truck, i do see that the fuse box has all the spots for items that i dont have just no fuses in them.
