Default Transmission and Smarty questions

Ok I have the NV5600 6spd transmission. Its stock with no clutch or hydraulic upgrades and im getting ready to buy a smarty. What can my stock transmission hold HP and Torque wise? Also I think my clutch is upgraded in some way because the pedal is very stiff because they didn't upgrade the hydraulics. When I talked to my friends brother who is a diesel mechanic, he said it was an aftermarket one but there is no way to tell what kind without dropping it. I don't want to run the risk of damaging it because I dont know what it is in the first place so we will just say its stock.
What is the best catcher lvl to put the smarty on in order to get the most power out of the smarty for what I have transmission wise because I dont want to damage my tranny or anything else for that matter. I was thinking on setting 3 but is it possible to go to maybe 5 or should I not even go there? Also if I get the POD should I set the initial setting lower and then have a 10-20hp range to play with the POD feature? Thanks and all help is greatly appreciated!

If that transmission has the aftermarket clutch and pressure plate......You could run it and have no worries.....

You could keep testing it and if you keep getting higher and higher and then your clutch starts slipping then you need to tone it down....You will be fine with regular REVO software....

Well im not sure. I am thinking the guy that had it before me had a chip and just took it out before he sold it. By the way he treated it an the things I had to fix, I don't know if he was very bright. I don't know what kind of clutch it is either. It may be a southbend or it may be some autozone cheap replacement. I guess I will just have to drop it this summer and find out for sure. As for the slipping, it will smell like burned something if it slips right? I really dont want to break anything but I will give it a shot and see how much it can take. Thanks for your help JMS!!

It will start slipping in the higher gears when you get on the throttle. Once it starts slipping theres no turning back. When its time I would get a Valair Iron Flywheel Dual Disc.

Thanks Luke! I will try not to slip it then. I know you explained before but I have another question. Would something like a stock clutch replacement cause the pedal to become stiff, say a Luk or Sachs stock replacement?

My stock clutch started to became harder to press as it wore. It can also be a sign of bad Hyrdaulics.

Now im really confused because I have been told that it gets softer as it wears. I guess I will just have to get in there and look for myself. Thanks!
