It is the same. A little tougher to reach, but it can be done.

Can I ask a dumb question, what does removing the silencer ring do??

I have a 2006 Dodge, this is all new to me.

if you have anything but stock air box and remove the silencer ring you can here the turbo noise alot better even over loud exhaust....

i suppose it makes it a little bit louder even with stock air and exhaust

its a choice you will have to make ....there is no performance perk to removing the ring but if you decide to just pop off the rubber tube going into the turbo and you will see a snap ring holding in another tapered metal ring about a inch thick. remove the snap ring with a flat screwdriver and needle-nose pliers and then put the tube back on the turbo and enjoy.
