you can remove the silencer ring in the 6.7's but there are 3 dowel pins that help hold it in ...you either have to break the pins (in which you cant put it back in) or you have to be extremely careful with prying evenly and slowly enough not to break em. also in this process theres a good chance of dinging up or breaking fins behind that ring thus shortning the life of the turbo and possible loss of performance. if you break pins and cant the ring back in then theres no hiding that from the dealer and probably voiding warranty. your choice , i wouldnt do it if it were me

Have any of you heard of A exhaust cutout? If you want the noise then it is as simple as A cut out Bypass your regular exhaust at any point depending on what you want for noise.... If you want to hear the turbo in the cab then just remove some of the insulation sound deadening stuff under hood and behind the fire wall. Trust me I have driven more miles in the tractors and in my own pick up then most will. I love the turbo spooling in my Western Star and wish CAT would force someone to put one of them torque monsters in A pickup... Don't get me wrong I love my Cummins. But they are all the same big or small.. They start out on their knees, but when they get their legs under them they are untouchable. In all of them 1900rpm for A cummins is the power band in A two stroke... They will out run anything comparable when you get them there and going to the top. Regardless If you want to hear that turbo. The newer units are no good as far as the silencer ring goes. If you want to hear it. Then remove the insulation. If you want to freak out the guy next to you at the track.... Roll up nice and quiet on the factory exhaust.. Flip the switch to dump it on A straight pipe four feet after the turbo... And breath fire on the ground, with A slight chance of windows breaking if their close enough. Personally I have come to enjoy being A sleeper to those spewing smoke and being the ****** that some worry bout. I run A No Smoke 09 Cummins that in the last three months has spit out every smoker I have come across. My next step is the exhaust cutout so that when I am just on their front fender I can dump my exhaust for A straight pipe four feet from the turbo and then you know you have been B(^$H sla#ed.... Nothing shames a show off better. Or maybe I am the show off cause I try to do the same things without advertising on every intersection. I ain't that guy am I????

No there is a little pin that you have to drill out. than you can take it out. I have not done it yet. But might do it this weekend.

I just took the ring out of my 06, and the check engine light popped up. I'm wondering if it was a problem with the air temp. sensor? I am running a stock air box, and plan on putting a new intake on soon. Any suggestions?
