Default block heater for an 03?...

Thinking of installing a block heater on my 03 5.9
Anyone have one or recommend one?
Or something different?

There's already one there. You probably just need the cord.

Should be on the block in the area of the oil filter. Cord from Cummins is around $16, iirc.

here ya go. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....EATER_CABLE_FL
it hooks up on the freezeplug on the passenger side, you should have the element in there but it was up to the dealer to have the cord with it or not.

Hell, just look and see if it has the cord, my truck didn't list it as part of the equiptment list, but when I was under there changing the alternator a few weeks back I found it has the heater cord already, but it was tucked up behind stuff and nobody knew it was there, I ahve heard the same thing on other forums too... Check first, if it's not already there just get the cable listed above...

it happens to a lot of us, most of the time it's there and we never knew, my truck was originally a southern (well Virginia anyway) truck so there was no need for the dealership to put it on, but like I said I found it when swapping out the alternator a month or so ago...
