power steering hissing
Hi I have a 2005 dodge ram. My issue is that I am getting a hissing sound when I turn the steering wheel. The sound goes away as soon as the brakes are applied. Also feels like steering is not as strong as it should be. I hate to start replacing parts until I fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hmmm i'm not too sure about this; but i assume leaving the whole system together other than a return line at the furthest point or closest to the pump w/o the resevoir drainign and turning the wheels should evacuate the system; then do the same thing with a little bit of the new stuff to get all the old out. i'm sure someone will jump in and tell you how to do it correctly as i am just talking out of my ****; but good luck

you can undo both the coler lines and jack the front up just off the ground and work it left and right then replace the lines and clamps and refill with atf+4 only start it and turn back and forth but stop when it hisses and shut it off and fill again. you will have to do this a few time then pump the brakes 25-30 time after you get all the air out by turninbg the wheel. good luck it worked great on mine
