i just came back from a trip to get a truck in Hampton Va. the only time i didnt like shiftin gears was in hampton where the redlights were close together that was when i wished it was an auto. but on the interstate put er in 6th and hold the hell on depends on where you drive.

I hate my auto! Seems like less power worse mileage, hate shift points . Only advantage is I can't shift a manual as fast as the auto does, but really how often do you need to. Buddy has a 03 3500 w/6 spd walks away in mountains , I'm straight piped w/intake juice w/ additude he's stock and walks away pulling same load in mountains .

i can say if i could do it all over again i would have a stick i hate the shift points and this is the second trans in this truck but i didnt do it who ever had it before me did and they did a shitty job on the rebuild i can slip it with the jwa turned off so 6 speed all the way i just wish there was a way to mount the 6.7 auto behind the 5.9 i think that would be nice
