How do you find out what the name of that john deer oil is and where do I go to read about that stuff in truck transmissions?

 

Uh, actually no, it's not, at least technically speaking. The Chrysler 7176E spec for ATF+4 specs a GrpIII base which is not a full PAO synthetic but rather a severely hydrocracked conventional base oil which some refer to as a "semi" syn.

But it's good stuff and the best thing for a Chrysler trans and the only thing I would use in a Dodge Truck.

 

John Deere oil is called Hy-Guard

 

Redline makes an ATF+4 compatible trans oil as well. If you're interested I have a contact in Benicia, CA. LMK

If your tranny is stock!

 

i know we use t3 and dextrol on a majority of cars we do fluid exchanges on. we also use dextrol for transfer cases.

mopar actually uses a synthetic blend not a full synthetic.
