I would be surprised if there was a free app that did these tests. That is part of the Dodge programming that takes some work to figure out. Just reading the PIDs is pretty easy as they are standard to the OBD systems. The rest of the stuff is proprietary.

I am not sure, but look into a program called AUTERRA, not expensive
and will load into a laptop.

Looks like only OBDII and Enhanced OBDII. Typical PIDS but none of the specialty stuff. Doesn't even look to support Dodge at all, let alone diesels.'

Best tool out there for the tests and all the rest of the proprietary stuff is AutoEnginuity.

So it turns out the Torque converter bolts were loose, pulled them out the rest of the way Red Loctite put them back in no more loud Cummins

thank you all for you help, and at the very least I now have nice clean injectors.

my truck just started doing the same thing. Btw it’s a 2012 ram 2500hd auto with the 6.7 Cummins. Can someone explain to me how the torque converter bolts can have this effect on the engine sound. Also is it accessible to do the converter bolts without removing the transmission if this happen to be the same case. Thanks I’m advance.

The torsional harmonics get enhanced when the engine to TC connection gets loose. You can tighten the bolts on the TC without pulling engine, should be a plate on the passenger side of the front of the engine adapter that will give you access.

well checked the torque converter bolts all are still torqued down. Water pump is failing I don’t see that making it louder sounding then getting quiet again at 1300 rpm any other suggestions maybe the exhaust brake is holding up. Sounds like the top end is ticking too but that all goes away when you hit that magic 1300 rpm

im thinking a cracked flex plate. I went around the engine and transmission after checking the torque converter bolts with a stethoscope listening to everything the engine sounds fine but when I get to the bell housing it’s pretty obvious that’s where the sound is coming from. Thanks for everyone’s help hopefully this will help someone
