That was my first thing I was planning to do along with cutting out the muffler and putting in a straight pipe. I've been looking at tuners and chips and I'm wondering what would be the best for me, I daily drive the truck so I want to maintain the same fuel mileage if not better. What is some good mods to get me started in the right direction?

Forget the straight pipe. Yes, ditch the muffler, and get an Aero Turbine muffler, the 4040XL specifically. Sounds like stock, but barks a bit when you "get on it." I definately felt an increase in torque when I installed mine. Also helps decrease EGTs. I bought mine just to try it. Figured I would sell it if I didnt like it. Well, I love it and its staying.

Oh yeah, the current stock intake manifold will likely have 2 indents where 2 of the mounting bolts are located. That area literally chokes the pressurized intake charge. Going with a good free flowing aftermarket intake manifold, or even a stock 2nd generation cummins intake will boost your HP and TQ as well as decrease EGTs. 2nd gen intakes are relatively inexpensive, alot less than after market intake manifold(s). Also a free flowing air filtration system, CAI or the like will help your engine breathe easier.

I didn't know you could run two tuners at once, how would you hook that up? Doesn't both hook into obdII?
