Default steering hiss 911

04 ram steering hisses when wheel is turned. goes away when brakes are applied, or wheel is pointed straight. i have done a system flush and added a filter to low pressure return. no results. then i changed the power steering pump and another flush. no results. flushed again and added lucas oil power steering fix. no results. now from what i read its either a hydroboost brakes needs replacing or my lines. can someone shed some light on this puzzling problem.

forget which line but one of the lines has a restrictor in it.remove lines at hydro booster and see if there is a clear looking tube protruding from it.had to do one on my buddies 06 but think there on the 04 also.he had same issues with a hard brakepedal also.hope this helps

It is not a restrictor its usually a liner problem. The liner slips down and gets into an area where the fluid causes noise. There is an updated line available.

from everything ive read said if it was a liner hiss would happen with straight wheel and go away with movement. also a known problem on 4th gen

Im putting a double reverse male fitting on and bypassing hydroboost a couple wheel to wheel locks should tell me if its the hydroboost going into bypass. i swear the sound is coming from the steering wheel if that makes sense?
