Weird leak?

Weird leak?
Ok I have a 2006 2500 with around 240xxx. I Have a leak I notice it dripping off of the pumpkin and it smells like gear oil. I pretty much traced the leak to the fuel filter but the fluid that is leaking smells just like gear oil? It has me baffled! Any insights or suggestions are appreciated!

also check engine light kicked on threw codes for MAP sensor, and low fuel pressure witch would indicate a leak at the filter. Maybe I just answered my own question.
